“Inflammatory Root Resorption: Are Chemo-Therapeutic Agents an Effective Adjunct to its Treatment?”

Inflammatory root resorption is a complicating factor associated with root canal infection that can cause significant loss of tooth structure. This presentation will examine the different categories of inflammatory root resorption, as well as the various aetiologies, cellular mechanisms and prognoses. In addition to considering the conventional biomechanical management of these resorptions, the indications, methods, proposed mechanism of activity and efficacy of various chemo-therapeutic agents used in treatment will also be discussed.

Attendees will learn:
  1. The classification of various types of inflammatory root resorption.
  2. The etiologies, cellular mechanisms and prognoses associated with inflammatory root resorption.
  3. The indications, methods, proposed mechanisms of activity and efficacy of chemo-therapeutic agents used in the treatment of inflammatory root resorption.
