“Maximum Esthetics in Restorative Dentistry Using Both Digital and Analog Technologies"

While digital dentistry continues to evolve it is important to critically evaluate our results and compare them to known standards. Digital dentistry has made some procedures better and more predictable, however, we should not quickly abandon the “tried and true” analog methods. This lecture will detail the clinical techniques necessary to achieve maximum esthetics with restorative dentistry using both analog and digital procedures. Multiple restorative case types will be shown detailing both digital and analog techniques and products.

Topics:

Digital vs analog; when to use each one
Case design and work up
Impression techniques
Provisionalization
Abutment selection
Ceramic material selection
Digital photography workflow
Incorporating new technologies into your practice

Learning objectives:

  1. Understanding the overall restorative workflow required to achieve the best possible esthetic results for our patients.
  2. Understanding where digital dentistry improves the quality and efficiency of the restorative work-flow and how to incorporate it into your practice.
  3. Deciding which technologies and methods impact the final outcome of the restorations.
