“Crossing the Bar: Death of a Tooth"
Endodontic success rates can be difficult to forecast. The failure of endodontically treated teeth is always costly in more ways than one. In this presentation we will discuss many of the weaknesses of endodontically treated teeth that predispose them to failure and how to best prognosticate success. We will also discuss staving off the death of a tooth.
Topics:  Extraction, surgical endodontics, restorative endodontics, decision-making strategies
Learning Objectives:
  1. Gain a realistic outlook on endodontic success rates.
  2. Identify what variables the endodontist has under his/her control that affect outcomes.
  3. Understand which strategies can be employed to predict the death of a tooth and also to prolong its life.
